SMS Messaging and Mobile Phone Numbers

Pivotal Referral uses SMS text messaging to send notifications related to your referral activity. This section describes how we handle mobile phone numbers and SMS communications.

How We Use Your Mobile Number

If you provide a mobile phone number, we may use it to send:

  • Referral status update notifications
  • Time limit alerts
  • Account verification messages
  • Important service announcements related to your account

Message frequency varies based on your activity and the notification settings configured by your organization. Message and data rates may apply.

Retention of Mobile Numbers

Your mobile phone number is stored securely in our database and associated with your user account. We retain your mobile number for as long as your account remains active, or until you request its removal. Mobile numbers are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use Twilio to deliver SMS messages. Your mobile number may be transmitted to Twilio solely for the purpose of message delivery. Twilio's privacy practices are described at twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy.

How to Opt Out of SMS

You can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. You can also remove your mobile number or disable SMS notifications in your account settings. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent unless you re-enable notifications.

To re-enable SMS notifications after opting out, reply START to a previous message or update your notification preferences in your account settings.
